James Wirth, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in orthopedic surgery at Tampa Bay Bone & Joint Center in Tampa, Florida. He earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in 2025 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Daytona State College with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Healthcare Supervision and Management.

 

Before becoming a Physician Assistant, James gained over five years of experience in pharmacy, where he developed a strong passion for medication reconciliation and management, ensuring patient safety through precise pharmacologic care. He also spent three years providing intensive care support at Advent Health, where he honed his clinical judgment, teamwork, and patient-centered communication in high-acuity settings. With a strong background in orthopedic and urgent care medicine, James provides comprehensive evaluations, assists in surgical and postoperative care, and collaborates closely with the orthopedic team to deliver individualized treatment plans. His clinical expertise spans musculoskeletal conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee, and spine, with a patient-centered approach emphasizing functional recovery and holistic well-being.

 

James is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants (FAPA). Outside of medicine, he is family-oriented, coming from a large family of twelve and sharing a close bond with his identical twin, John. He enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly hiking in the mountains, and is also a competitive volleyball player with the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) and the Sunshine State Outdoor Volleyball Association (SSOVA).
